I haven't gotten henna done since I was 13 years old.
I was in Maryland with one of my best friends and her family, and they had taken us to an amusement park along the pier. I got a henna panda, and naturally my impatient self yanked all of the paste off in about 30 minutes, leaving basically nothing behind (I've only improved my patience slightly since then).

When I was contacted to create a post for The Henna Touch, I was so excited. Here was my chance to get some real (temporary) body art done, and I've always admired the beauty of legitimate henna designs. They're so intricate, and Henna's (yup, that's her name, too) designs were so beautiful. I knew she'd create something spectacular for me to style against.
To keep the color beautiful for over a week, I made sure to wait a full four hours, apply Vick's Vapor Rub within the first 24 hours after getting the henna done, and then I rubbed coconut oil on it before showers (to protect the design).
The floral skirt really complimented the art, while I kept the rest of the look simple and sleek so as to not overwhelm myself with too many patterns. I think it came out perfectly, and I surprisingly got tons of compliments from men. Apparently, they love henna, who knew?
